Social Fives at Andy T Memorial Day
Exeter Touch Rugby enjoyed a fun day running (and sliding) in tries, competing in Columba and Torpoint RFC’s annual ‘Andy T Memorial Day’. The event is a social 5 a side touch competition played to raise money for St Lukes Hospice. Twenty teams from around the South West entered with stiff competition from keen amateur and professional players.
Exeter Touch were able to enter a small contingent of players to compete in the event. Several regulars were joined by a few new faces in their first caps for the club. The team competed well, scoring some excellently worked team tries and making it through to the quarter finals - A tight game where ETR eventually lost 3 – 2, narrowly missing out on going into extra time through a disqualified try.
A fantastic day was enjoyed by all the team. Exeter Touch would like to thank St Columba and Torpoint for organising the event for such a worthy cause and Plymouth OPM Touch rugby for supporting us with several much needed subs!
ETR will run out for our next fixture in Round Two of the South West League at Plymouth on 30th July. New players always welcome!
